  RE: SUPERANNUATION

COMMISSIONER R K GOZZI HOBART, 4 May 1990

REASONS FOR DECISION

APPEARANCES:

For the Federated Liquor and Allied
Industries Employees' Union of
Australia Tasmanian Branch

- Mr. N. J. Sherry

For the Retail Traders Association
of Tasmania

- Mr D McDougall
For the Tasmanian Confederation
of Industries
- Mr. K. Brotherson

DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING:

26 April 1990        Hobart

In this matter the Federated Liquor and Allied Industries Employees' Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (FLAIEU) sought the variation of the Restaurant Keepers Award to reflect 3 per cent Occupational Superannuation provisions.

Mr Sherry appearing for the FLAIEU indicated that following lengthy negotiations with Mr Brotherson for the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries (TCI), the proposed variation to the award is by consent of the parties.

Mr Sherry assisted the Commission by comprehensively detailing the proposed variations to Divisions A, B, C and D of the Award. He informed the Commission that some of the terms of the provisions differed, principally between Division A and the remaining Divisions of the award.

Mr Brotherson supported the submissions made by Mr Sherry.

I am satisfied that the draft order presented to the Commission in these proceedings (Exhibit S1) conforms with the Wage Fixing Principles.

Accordingly the award will be varied operative from 1 June 1990.

The order will be issued in due course.

R K Gozzi
