T2428, T2430 and T2431
IN THE TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984
These applications, which were joined at the commencement of the hearing, were for "traineeship" provisions to be put into the Ice Cream Makers, the Printers and the Produce Awards. The Australian Traineeship Scheme provisions have now been inserted in quite a number of the Awards of this Commission and as the amendments proposed by these applications (except for a small amendment made to application T.2430 of 1990) are essentially the same as those latterly put into some other awards (for example, the Fuel Merchants Award), I endorse them forthwith. Mr D Fry appearing for the Federated Clerks Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch made submissions in support of the applications and Mr D Adams, appearing for the Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia, Tasmania Branch supported those submissions. Mr S Clues, appearing with Mr R Murray for the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries confirmed agreement to the applications as did Mr J Hargrave of the Printing and Allied Trades Employers' Federation of Australia, Tasmanian Region. The awards will be amended, operative from the first full pay period commencing on or after 18 June 1990. Orders to vary the three awards will be issued under separate cover on this day.
