CLAY AND MUD PRODUCTS AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

4 February 1992

Wage rates - minimum rates adjustment - second increase

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application made under Section 23 of the Act by the Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch (the Union) for the second Minimum Rates Adjustment (MRA) to be applied to the Clay and Mud Products Award (the Award).

After off record discussions between the parties it was reported to the Commission that agreement had been reached for the Award to be amended operative from the first full pay period commencing on or after 22 January 1992 by:

(a) adding the final percentage wage relativity to Grade 1 in each Grade definition in Clause 7 of the Award.

(b) adding the second MRA's to the wage rates specified in Clause 8 of the Award as agreed, outlined and endorsed in matter T.3220 of 1991.

The parties requested that the application be granted as amended operative from the agreed date.

As indicated at the hearing, I am satisfied that the application is in accordance with the current Wage Guidelines of the Commission and the agreement ratified in matter T.3220 of 1991 and it is endorsed.

The consequent amendments to the Award will operate from the first full pay period commencing on or after 22 January 1992.

An order is attached.
