Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

National Union of Workers,

(T3655 of 1992)

FIBREGLASS AND PLASTICS AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

30 January 1992

Wage rates - State Wage Case November 1989 - Second minimum rates adjustment - ranted

REASONS FOR DECISION

The first minimum rates adjustment was granted to the Fibreglass and Plastics Award from the first full pay period to commence on or after 18 July 1991.

This application made by the National Union of Workers, Tasmanian Branch, (NUW) was for the purpose of varying the wage rates contained in this award by inserting the second minimum rates adjustment.

The parties to the hearing informed the Commission of their agreed position which was reflected in exhibit R1 tendered by Mr Richardson of the NUW. He said the organisation he represented reaffirmed its commitment to clause 8, subclause 1(b) relating to minimum rates being absorbed against any overaward payments being paid by an employer.

This consent application for the second minimum rates adjustment is consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and therefore it will be granted in the terms agreed to by the parties and operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 30 January 1992 and I decide accordingly.

The order giving effect to this decision is attached.
