First minimum rates adjustment

REASONS FOR DECISION

In this matter the Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (FMWU) requested the variation of the Child Care and Childrens Services Award in respect of the first minimum rates adjustment. The application is consistent with my Reasons for Decision in matter T.3008 of 1991 where I stated, inter alia:

    "Minimum Rates Adjustment

    The FMWU and TCI have agreed the minimum rates adjustments to be made to the wage rates now endorsed by the Commission. The first minimum rates adjustment will be made three months from the date of operation of the new classification structure ... followed by three subsequent adjustment at six monthly interva Is each."

Having regard to the foregoing the first minimum rates adjustment will be made as outlined in Exhibit OB1 operative from the first pay period to commence on or after 8 February 1992.
