TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Australian Workers Union

(T.3682 of 1992)

HORTICULTURISTS AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

9 March 1992

Award variation - deletion of reference to farming and fruit growing variation to Scope

REASONS FOR DECISION

In its decision of 30 August 1991 the Commission varied the title and scope of the Agriculturists Award. That award through Orders handed down on 3 March 1992 will be known as the Farming and Fruit Growing Award from the first full pay period on or after 13 March 1992.

The purpose of this application lodged by the Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch (AWU) is to delete all reference in the Horticulturists Award to fruit and vegetable growing along with seed farming. This work will now fall within the Scope of the Farming and Fruit Growing Award.

This consent application is endorsed by the Commission as the proposed award variations contained in this application will eliminate any confusion that may exist between the Horticulturists Award and the Farming and Fruit Growing Award.

The operative date of this decision shall be the first full pay period to commence on or after 13 March 1992 and the orders giving effect to this decision are attached.
