TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 National Union of Workers RUBBER TRADES AWARD
Wage rates - State Wage November 1989 - Structural Efficiency Principle - State Wage August 1991 - increase wage rates and work related allowances by 2.5% - consent application - operative FFPP 27 July 1992 REASONS FOR DECISION This application was made by the National Union of Workers, Tasmanian Branch for the purpose of varying the Rubber Trades Award to reflect the 2.5% increase in wage rates and work related allowances arising out of the State Wage Case decision handed down on 13 August 1991. My decision of 1 June 19921 varied the award to reflect the second structural efficiency increase arising out of the Oct/Nov 1989 State Wage Case decision thus enabling the parties to proceed with this application. Whilst noting that the minimum rates adjustment process in this award has not yet commenced nevertheless the parties are prepared to commence them in the near future. Having heard the submissions from the parties I am satisfied that the agreed position presented by them conforms with the Structural Efficiency Principle and specifically the conditions set out in (a) to (g). Accordingly the award will be varied in the manner sought and the attached order giving effect to this decision will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 27 July 1992.
