TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Metals and Engineering Workers' Union
(T.3907 of 1992)

DRAUGHTING AND TECHNICAL OFFICERS (PRIVATE INDUSTRY) AWARD

COMMISSIONER R K GOZZI

HOBART 12 August 1992

Award variation - Clause 30 sick leave - Clause 31 - Structural Efficiency - consent matters - application granted - 10 August 1992

REASONS FOR DECISION

Commensurate with Structural Efficiency initiatives implemented in the Draughting and Technical Officers Award, some consequential, minor variations were required to be as a last step in the award restructuring process.

Accordingly this application by the Metals and Engineering Workers Union sought the deletion of gender specific language (the words he and she) from Clause 30 of the Award, as well as the deletion of clause 31(e) dealing with transitional arrangements from the "old" to the new structure.

The variations are endorsed operative from 10 August 1992.

The order is attached.
