TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Federated Clerks Union of Australia CLERICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE EMPLOYEES (PRIVATE SECTOR) AWARD
Wage rates - State Wage Case 1991 - Second Minimum Rates Adjustments REASONS FOR DECISION This application sought implementation of the second minimum rates adjustment in the Clerical and Administrative (Private Sector) Award in accordance with the procedure adopted in my decision of 4 February 19921. Adjustments were to be effected at 9-monthly intervals, the second (the subject of this application) to be operative from 1 December 1992. Mrs Dowd, representing the applicant, the Federated Clerks Union, informed the Commission the granting of the adjustment would not offend the public interest,, nor would it be outside the wage fixing guidelines endorsed by the Commission. The new rates of pay, and the adjusted percentages applicable to the junior rates for the ages 19-20 and 20-21, were as contained in the abovementioned decision. In confirming Mrs Dowd's contention that it was a consent application, Mr Clues, representing the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries, endorsed the draft schedule of rates submitted by the applicant, together with the proposed operative date. He noted that these increased rates were fully absorbable against over-award payments. I am satisfied the variations conform with the arrangements previously entered into between the parties and do not offend the wage fixing principles or the public interest. The award will be varied accordingly. The order is attached, operative from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 December 1992.
