TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Australian Liquor, Hospitality & Miscellaneous Workers Union-
Tasmanian Branch

(T.4177 of 1992)

LICENSED CLUBS AWARD

DEPUTY PRESIDENT A ROBINSON

HOBART 21 January 1993

Third minimum rates adjustment

REASONS FOR DECISION

This matter concerns an application by the Australian Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union, Tasmanian Branch, to vary the Licensed Clubs Award by increasing wage rates in accordance with the Minimum Rates Adjustment principle of this Commission.

More specifically the application relates to the granting of the third minimum rates adjustment.

The parties advised the Commission that they had previously conferred and consented to the granting of the application because:

1. The increases would be consistent with the public interest criteria of the Act.

2. There would be established proper skills relativities.

3. Absorption of over-award payments to the necessary exhibit would occur.

4. The Principles of Wage Fixing would be satisfied.

I accept the validity of the grounds advanced and accordingly decide to grant the application and vary the award in a manner consistent with the application and the draft Order provided by the parties.

Date of Operation

This variation to the award shall come into operation from the beginning of the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 February 1993.

Order is attached.
