s.23 application for award or award variation

Tasmanian Confederation of Industries
(T.4264 of 1993)

METAL AND ENGINEERING INDUSTRY AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

23 February 1993

Award variation - wage rates for junior clerical employees - consent matter - variation to consent order arising out of application T.4179 of 1992 award varied - ffpp 1 March 1993

REASONS FOR DECISION

On 22 February 1993 the Commission endorsed a consent application1 lodged by the Federated Clerks Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch, to reflect the second minimum rates adjustment for clerical employees in the Metal and Engineering Industry Award.

This application, submitted by the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries, was for the purpose of varying the rates of pay for junior clerical employees, as an error had been made by the parties in the draft order they presented to the Commission during the course of application T.4179 of 1992.

This application meets with the approval of the Commission and will override the rates of pay for junior clerical employees appearing in Clause 8, subclause 9 - Clerical Juniors, contained in Order No. 2 of 1993 arising out of application T.4179 of 1992.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached and will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 March 1993.
