TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or award variation

Australian Workers Union

(T.4279 of 1993)

FARMING AND FRUIT GROWING AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

18 March 1993

Wage rates - State Wage Case November 1989 - third and final minimum rates adjustment - consent application - award varied - ffpp 13 March 1993

REASONS FOR DECISION

The first and second minimum rates adjustments were granted to the Farming and Fruit Growing Award (T3677 of 1992) from the first full pay period to commence on or after 13 March 1992 as part of an agreed structural efficiency package negotiated under the Structural Efficiency Principles.

It was also agreed, as part of the package, that the third and final minimum rates adjustments would be available simultaneously in the early part of 1993.

This application was lodged by the Australian Workers Union, Tasmania Branch for the purpose of implementing the agreed process and it had the support of the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries and the TFGA Industrial Association.

I endorse the application as it conforms with the Wage Fixing Principles, the Public Interest requirements of the Act and the agreed structural efficiency programme for this award.

The award will be varied in the manner sought by the parties and be operative from the first full pay period to commence on 13 March 1993.
