METAL AND ENGINEERING INDUSTRY AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

7 April 1993

Award variation - wage rates - correction to formula for determining the rates pay for Trainee - Engineering Associate - consent matter - award varied - ffpp 5 April 1993

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application was lodged by the Metals and Engineering Workers Union, now known as the Automotive, Metals and Engineering Union, for the purpose of varying Clause 8, subclause 4 of the Metal and Engineering Industry Award to correct the formula for determining the rates of pay for Trainee - Engineering Associate.

The parties agreed that an error occurred when the award was made and they presented an agreed position requesting the Commission to correct the anomaly.

The award will be varied in the manner sought by the parties as its consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and does nothing more than correct an error.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached and will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 5 April 1993.
