Award variation - Clause 6, Parties and Persons Bound

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application sought to vary the Retail Trades Award by inserting the Tasmanian Newsagents Association in the Parties and Persons Bound clause.

Mr Ireland, appearing for the applicant, the Tasmanian Newsagents Association Ltd, submitted that the Association had been granted award interest on 18 November 1992,1 and the matter now before the Commission was the final chapter in inserting the Tasmanian Newsagents Association into the appropriate part of the award.

On behalf of the Shop Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Mr Griffin submitted that there was no objection to the Association being included in the award.

The application is granted and the award will be varied accordingly from today's date.

The order is attached.
