Award variation - Clause 6 - Parties and Persons Bound - change of name - Metals and Engineering Workers Union to Automotive, Metals and Engineering Union - consent matter - award varied - operative from 14 April 1993

REASONS FOR DECISION

These applications were made by the Metals and Engineering Workers Union (M&EWU) for the purpose of varying Clause 6 - Parties and Persons Bound of the Metal and Engineering Industry Award, the Metal and Engineering On-Site Construction Industry Award, the Metal Trades (State Employees) Award and the Tasmanian Government Departments (Mechanical and Electrical) Engineering Award by changing their name to the Automotive, Metals and Engineering Union (AMEU).

Mr Harding appearing for the AMEU produced correspondence from the Registrar of this Commission (Exhibit H1) acknowledging the change of name.

I am satisfied that the M&EWU has changed its name and the new name will be reflected in the four awards being the subject of these applications and I decide accordingly.

The Orders giving effect to this decision are attached and will be operative from 14 April, 1993.
