TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 The Health Services Union of Australia and Federated Clerk Union of Australia WELFARE AND VOLUNTARY AGENCIES AWARD
Award variation - third minimum rates adjustment - matters joined REASONS FOR DECISION These applications by the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No 1 Branch (HSUA) and the Federated Clerks Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (FCU) were for the variation of the Welfare and Voluntary Agencies Award in respect of the third minimum rates adjustment (MRA). The applications were joined for hearing purposes. Mrs Dowd appearing for the FCU, supported by Mr Warwick for the HSUA informed the Commission that this MRA adjustment was in accordance with the determinations made in matters T.2706 of 1990 and T.3785 of 1992. It was also pointed out by Mrs Dowd that the adjustment was in compliance with the MRA Schedules set out in Appendix A and B of the award. The Commission is satisfied that the third MRA adjustment requested to be made by the HSUA and the FCU, supported by Mr Fitzgerald for the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries, is in accord with the Wage Fixing Principles. Therefore the award will be varied as set out in the draft order, Exhibit FCU1, operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 29 May 1993. The order is attached.
