REASONS FOR DECISION

This matter concerns an application by the Australian Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union - Tasmanian Branch, to vary the Hotels, Resorts, Hospitality and Motels Award by applying the fourth minimum rates adjustment to Division B - Motels.

The application also incorporates nominated tidying up of matters already contained in the award not involving questions as to merit.

The case for granting this particular application rests upon:

1. Consent of the parties.

2. Compliance with State Wage Case - Minimum Rates Adjustment Principle.

3. Completion of phasing-in arrangements of other similar adjustments.

4. Compliance with public interest requirements of the Act.

I am satisfied on each of the criteria, the application is granted and the award will be varied in a manner consistent with the application.

Date of Operation:

This variation shall come into operation from the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 August 1993.

The Order [Correction Order] is attached.
