Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Australian Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union -
Tasmanian Branch

(T.4696A of 1993)

RESTAURANT KEEPERS AWARD

DEPUTY PRESIDENT A ROBINSON

HOBART, 3 December 1993

Award variation - Clause 8 - Wage Rates, 4. Apprentices, Food and Beverage Trade - consent matter - award varied - operative ffpp on or after 2 December 1993

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application by the Australian Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union - Tasmanian Branch was to vary the Restaurant Keepers Award to clarify the fact that apprentices (food and beverage) are entitled to $375.50 in both the fourth and fifth six months of service and that this amount equals 90% of the rate applicable to a Hospitality Service Grade 5 Trade Waiter.

The parties concerned recognised that there had been a previous oversight which needed correction and as a consequence was a consent matter.

Because of the circumstances the application is granted and the award will be varied accordingly.

Date of Operation:

This variation shall come into operation from the first full pay period commencing on or after 2 December 1993.

Order is attached.
