Amalgamation

REASONS FOR DECISION

This is an application for amalgamation pursuant to Section 67A of the Act lodged jointly by the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, Tasmanian Branch; The Federated Furnishing Trade Society of Australasia, Tasmanian Branch; and The Operative Painters and Decorators' Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch.

After hearing the applicants I am satisfied that the requirements of Section 67A(2)(a) and (b) have been met and accordingly the application is granted and the amalgamated organisation is registered effective from 23 July 1993.

In accordance with the requirements of Section 67(3)(a) the registration of the above organisations is cancelled and a certificate of registration in the name of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, Tasmanian Branch, will be issued in accordance with Section 64 bearing the names of those awards in which the deregistered organisations formerly held an interest.
