Amalgamation

REASONS FOR DECISION

This is an application for amalgamation pursuant to Section 67A of the Act lodged jointly by the Shop Distributive and Allied Employees' Association - Tasmanian Branch and The Tasmania Branch of the Australian Hairdressers, Wigmakers and Hairworkers Employees' Federation.

After hearing the applicants I am satisfied that the requirements of Section 67A(2)(a) and (b) have been met and accordingly the application is granted and the amalgamated organisation is registered effective from 2 August 1993.

In accordance with the requirements of Section 67(3)(a) the registration of both organisations is cancelled and a certificate of registration in the name of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch will be issued bearing the names of those awards in which both of the deregistered organisations formerly held an interest.
