Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union
(T.5450 of 1995)

TOTALIZATOR AGENCY AWARD

DEPUTY PRESIDENT ROBINSON

HOBART, 8 May 1995

Award variation - travelling time and allowances - consent matter - award varied - operative ffpp 3 May 1995

REASONS FOR DECISION

This matter concerns an application by the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union to vary the Totalizator Board Award by increasing the rates applicable to travelling time and allowances contained in existing Clause 44.

The award contains a provision that the rates shall be adjusted in a like manner and as from the same date as is applicable in the General Conditions of Service Award as varied from time to time.

The parties had conferred prior to the hearing and were able to verify that the figures submitted as part of the application were correct, and had been paid as from the date of the last variation to the General Conditions of Service Award.

Since this is a consent matter, and the Wage Fixing Principles permit the adjustment of cost-related allowances from time to time, and provision is made in the award, I am satisfied that the granting of this application would be consistent with public interest criteria. Therefore the application is granted in the terms sought, with effect from the first full pay period to commence from 3 May 1995.
