TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Minister for Public Sector Management TOURISM TASMANIA STAFF AWARD
Award variation - mainland allowances REASONS FOR DECISION In this matter the Minister for Public Sector Management made application to vary the Tourism Tasmania Staff Award to update clause 16 - Mainland Allowance. Having regard to Exhibits L2 and L3 market movements in the average median rental movements for two bedroom units and 3 bedroom houses as published by the Real Estate Institute of Australia Ltd, the adjustments in the quantum of the allowances as specified in Exhibit L2 are endorsed. It should be noted that the four quarter averages were calculated from the September 1993 quarter through to the June 1994 quarter. Accordingly any subsequent adjustments will be required to be calculated from the the September 1995 quarter through to the June 1996 quarter. In the course of the proceedings Mr Mazengarb for The State Public Services Federation Tasmania brought to the attention of the Commission that in subclause (c) of Clause 16 reference to roman numeral (ii) should in fact read (i). He requested that the opportunity should be taken in this matter to correct this mistake. The Commission supports that request. Accordingly all of the variations will be made to the award operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after the date of this decision. The order is attached.
