TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 AUTOMOTIVE, FOOD, METALS, ENGINEERING,
Determination of award interest - deleted - approved REASONS FOR DECISION This was an application made under Section 65A of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (the Act) by the Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing and Kindred Industries Union (the AMWU) seeking leave to have the AMWU's certificate of registration recalled and re-issued with the AMWU's interest in the Restaurant Keeper's Award (the Award) deleted from the certificate. In accordance with Section 65A (2), the application was referred to me by the President for determination. At the hearing the AMWU sought the deletion of its interest in the Award because it had no members covered by the Award and did not intend enlisting members from the workers employed within the scope of the Award. In the light of the AMWU's submissions and having taken into account Section 63 (10) (c) of the Act, I am satisfied that this application conforms with the requirements of the Act and is not against the public interest: I hereby determine that the AMWU's interest in the award be deleted and I so order. A copy of this determination will be forwarded to the Registrar in accordance with Section 65A (6) of the Act.
