REASONS FOR DECISION

This application was lodged by the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union (the applicant) for the purpose of varying the Optical Industries Award to reflect the fourth and final minimum rates adjustment.

The parties presented an agreed position in support of this application.

I have considered the submissions of the parties and arrived at the conclusion that as it conforms with the Wage Fixing Principles and is the last phase of the agreed minimum rates adjustment process for this award.

I hereby determine that the award will be varied in the manner sought and the Order giving effect to this decision is attached and will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 27 December 1995.
