T7574 and T7628
TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch RETAIL PHARMACY AWARD
Award variation - wage rates - 3rd and final Minimum Rate Adjustment for Pharmacy Assistants, Grades 1 to 4 - consent matters - applications granted - award varied - operative date ffpp 3 April 1998 REASONS FOR DECISION On 10th March 1998, application T7574 of 1998 was lodged by the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (TCCI) and on 2 April 1998, application T7628 of 1998 was lodged by the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch, (SDAEA). Both application sought, pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 , to vary the Retail Pharmacy Award by increasing the wage rates for Pharmacy Assistants, Grades 1 to 4, to include the third and final Minimum Rate Adjustment. At the commencement of the hearing, Mr P Griffin, on behalf of the SDAEA, sought and was granted leave to amend application T7628 of 1998, to join it with application T7574 of 1998. This consent matter comes before the Commission as part of the previously agreed Minimum Rate Adjustment program for this award. I am satisfied, after hearing the submissions of Mr P Griffin (SDAEA), Mr D Pyrke (APESMA) and Mr M Watson (TCCI), that the application is consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and does not offend the public interest requirements of the Act. As a result the award will be varied in the manner sought. The variations will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 3 April 1998. The Order giving effect to this decision is attached.
