REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 21 September 2005, an application was lodged by the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union of Australia (CEPU) pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Electrical Engineers Award regarding expense related allowances.

[2] A hearing commenced at the Commonwealth Law Courts, 39-41 Davey Street, Hobart on Thursday 15 December 2005 at 11.30 am.

[3] At the hearing Mr K Harkins appeared on behalf of the CEPU and Mr P Mazengarb for the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (TCCI).
