[2] A hearing commenced at the Edward Braddon Commonwealth Law Courts Building, 39-41 Davey Street, Hobart on Tuesday 17 March 2009. [3] The agreement, to be known as the House of Assembly Staff Industrial Agreement 2009, is to be operative from the first full pay period on or after 5 March 2009 and it is to remain in force until 31 December 2011 [4] The agreement applies to all relevant persons employed under the provisions of the Parliamentary Privilege Act 1898 in the House of Assembly. [5] Mr M Di Pretoro appeared for the union and Mr P Bennison for the employer. [6] Having considered the consent submission of the parties, I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest and no disadvantage tests required by the Act and I decide accordingly. [7] The file will now be referred to the Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of Section 56(1) of the Act.
