[T13720 of 2010]

TASMANIAN MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY HOURS AGREEMENT 2010

COMMISSIONER J P MCALPINE
17 November 2010

Industrial Agreement - agreement approved – operative 17 November 2010 – to remain in force until 17 November 2015 - forwarded to the Registrar for registration

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] This application, lodged pursuant to s.55 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 by the Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) Inc, (CPSU), and the Minister Administering the State Service Act 2000, (MASSA), was for the purpose of filing an industrial agreement with the Commission.

[2] A hearing commenced in Hobart on 17 November 2010.

[3] The agreement, to be known as the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Hours Agreement 2010, is to be operative on and from 17 November 2010 and remain in force until 17 November 2015.  The agreement shall apply in respect of the employment of employees engaged as Front of House Attendant and Team Leader - Front of House Attendant at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery either on a full-time, part-time or casual basis. This agreement replaces the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Award, which was rescinded at the hearing.

[4] Ms S Harwood, for the CPSU, and Ms T Banman, for MASSA, presented submissions in support of their consent application.

[5] Having considered the consent submissions of the parties, I am satisfied the agreement is consistent with the public interest and no disadvantage tests required by the Act, and I decide accordingly.

[6] The file will now be referred to the Registrar in accordance with the requirements of s.56(1) of the Act.
