COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

19 September 1991

Wage Rates - Work related allowances - State Wage Case August 1991 - 2.5% increase - granted

REASONS FOR DECISION

The applicants in these matters sought to vary the Building Trades Award, the Building and Construction Industry Award and the Plumbers Award to reflect the 2.5% increase in wage rates and work related allowances arising out of the State Wage Case decision handed down on the 13 August 1991.

All employee organisations party to the awards gave the required commitment pursuant to Principle 1. They also addressed the criteria set out in Principle 2 - Structural Efficiency - items (a) to (g).

The applications were supported by the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries and the Master Builders Association of Tasmania.

I indicated to the parties at the conclusion of the hearing that I endorsed the applications and I now confirm that decision.

The applications satisfy the criteria as set out in the principles and do no harm the Public Interest requirements of the Act.

The orders giving effect to this decision are attached and will be operative from the first full pay period on or after 6 September 1991.
