(T.5538 of 1995)

NATIONAL TRAINING WAGE (TASMANIAN PRIVATE SECTOR) AWARD

FULL BENCH
DEPUTY PRESIDENT A ROBINSON
COMMISSIONER R J WATLING
COMMISSIONER R K GOZZI

HOBART, 18 July 1995

Award variation - National Training Wage - extension to list of industries covered - application granted - remainder reserved - operative ffpp 17 July 1995

REASONS FOR FURTHER DECISION

In our decision dated 13 July 1995 which varied the National Training Wage (Tasmanian Private Sector) Award, we pointed out that the AWU-FIME Amalgamated Union, Tasmania Branch (AWU-FIME) may, if given more time, be prepared to consent to the addition of two more industry awards in the National Training Wage (Tasmanian Private Sector) Award, in light of information provided during the hearing dated the 7 July 1995. The awards referred to were the Metal and Engineering Industry Award and the Rubber Trades Award.

The Commission requested AWU-FIME to give speedy consideration to the material presented and inform the Commission of the results of its deliberations.

In correspondence dated 14 July 1995 the AWU-FIME stated that it had no objection to the said awards being included in the National Training Wage (Tasmanian Private Sector) Award.

That being the case, and as there was no expressed opposition to the scope of the Metal and Engineering Industry Award and the Rubber Trades Award being included in the award, we hereby determine that the National Training Wage (Tasmanian Private Sector) Award will be varied to reflect the agreement of the parties.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached and will be operative from the ffpp to commence on or after 17 July 1995.
