Under the terms of the Industrial Relations [Commonwealth Powers] Act 2009 all private sector awards and agreements were referred to the Commonwealth from 1 January 2010. Private sector employees and employers that were covered by the Tasmanian industrial relations system (sole traders, partnerships and trusts) at that date transferred into the national workplace relations system.
Public sector employees, within the meaning of the State Service Act 2000, were specifically excluded from this referral.
Private sector employees and employers who previously dealt with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission and have matters covered by the C'wlth Fair Work Act 2009 need to redirect all enquiries to:
