Coronavirus(COVID-19) Protocols

These protocols have been established to regulate the practice and procedure of the Tasmanian Industrial Commission during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

To minimise the spread of the virus and keep the Commission as operational as possible, the following arrangements are in place until further notice.

Hearings and conferences
No conferences or hearings will take place in person.
The Commission will conduct hearings and conferences by telephone or Skype for Business.
This applies to cases that are already scheduled, as well as future proceedings.

Urgent applications
Urgent Applications when lodged should clearly identify that they are urgent and state reasons of urgency.
Some applications may need to be made to vary Agreements or Awards to take account of COVID-19. Any such application should specify that it is an application in response to the virus.

Standard Applications
Applications should not be lodged in person. They should be lodged via email at  tic@justice.tas.gov.au or by post at GPO Box 1108, Hobart, Tasmania 7000.
We intend to operate as normally as we can and to list matters and have them dealt with in a timely fashion. However COVID-19 may cause some delays with staff working remotely during the response to the virus. We appreciate your understanding.
