IN THE TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984

T.1556 of 1988

IN THE MATTER OF AN APPLICATION BY THE TASMANIAN PUBLIC SERVICE ASSOCIATION TO VARY THE INLAND FISHERIES COMMISSION STAFF AWARD

RE: HIGHER AND MORE RESPONSIBLE DUTIES ALLOWANCE

COMMISSIONER R K GOZZI

HOBART, 26 September 1988

REASONS FOR DECISION

APPEARANCES:

For the Tasmanian Public Service Association

- Mr J Geursen

For the Minister for Public Administration

- Mr C Willingham

DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING:

16 September 1988 Hobart
22 September 1988 Hobart

This consent matter concerns the inclusion of Higher Duties and more Responsible Duties provisions in the Inland Fisheries Commission Staff Award (the Award).

The application for variation, made by the Tasmanian Public Service Association (the Association) arises as a consequence of a Full Bench decisionl which determined the subject matter of this application in the terms sought by the Association in this case.

In the circumstances reference to "higher duties" and extra duty will be deleted from Clause 9 of the Award.

It is to be noted that Clause 9 is not identified in the body of the Award. That is whilst the text of the clause is included in the Award, the heading has been overlooked.

This oversight has already been rectified in the processing of the 3% National Wage Case decision.

Accordingly the variation in this case will be to include in Clause 12 - Conditions of Service, reference to higher duties and more responsible duties.

The Order, operative from the date of this decision will be issued in due course.
