TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Federated Liquor and Allied Industries Employees' Union of Australia
Tasmanian Branch

(T.3542 of 1991)

HOTELS, RESORTS, HOSPITALITY AND MOTELS AWARD

DEPUTY PRESIDENT A ROBINSON

HOBART 29 November 1991

State Wage Case - 2.5% increase

REASONS FOR DECISION

The Federated Liquor and Allied Industries Employees' Union, Tasmanian Branch lodged an application to vary the Hotels, Resorts, Hospitality and Motels Award by increasing current wage rates (including supplementary payments) by 2.5% in accordance with current Wage Fixation Principles1.

The matter is one of consent and follows an extensive review of the classifications, definitions and structure of the award in earlier proceedings.

In this matter the parties addressed, seriatim, the criteria to be satisfied in Principle 2, Structural Efficiency, items (a) to (g) inclusive.

On the evidence before the Commission the Principles have been satisfied.

I also find that to grant the application would be consistent with public interest.

Accordingly the claim is granted and the award will be varied in the manner sought.

Operative Date

This variation to the award shall have effect from the first full pay period to commence on or after 8 December 1991.

Order to follow.
