TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union
(T.5842 of 1995)

RUBBER TRADES AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

17 October 1995

Award variation - clause 8 wage rates - 4th minimum rates adjustment - consent matter ffpp 15-Oct-95

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application by Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union (the Union) for a variation to be made to the Rubber Trades Award (the Award).

Under the Structural Efficiency Principle of the Commission, the Union sought the implementation of the fourth Minimum Rates Adjustment (MRA) in the Award. An exhibit detailing the proposed increases was produced at the hearing in the form of a draft order.

The Union formally requested that the fourth MRA be endorsed and made operative from the first full pay period on or after 15 October 1995.

The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (the Chamber) confirmed that the figures in the draft order were correct and its agreement to the amounts specified. The Chamber also agreed to the date of operation sought by the Union.

I am satisfied that this application conforms with the MRA process, is in line with the Principles of the Commission and is not against the public interest.

The application is approved and the date of operation will be the first full pay period on or after 15 October 1995.

An order is attached.
