The application in this matter was amended in proceedings before the Commission on 6 April 1988, to read as follows:

"1. Amend the title of "Division E" by deleting the existing verbage and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

Division E - "Employees of homes for handicapped persons and in the case of St Giles Society also includes employees engaged in auxiliary services as provided".

    2. Delete the title of classification M. "Kitchen Hand" in clause 8 (1) of Division E and insert in lieu thereof the following title:

    "M. Kitchen Hand/Domestic".

The amended application resulted from negotiations between the parties and is agreed. The date of operation of the proposed changes is from 6 April 1988.

Having heard the submissions of the parties, I indicated at the conclusion of proceedings on 6 April that the Hospitals Award (the Award) would be varied in accordance with the agreed draft. I now confirm that statement.

An appropriate order varying the Award is attached.
