T.1531 of 1988

IN THE MATTER OF AN APPLICATION BY THE TASMANIAN TASMANIAN PUBLIC SERVICE ASSOCIATION TO VARY THE TOURISM TASMANIA AWARD and Correction Order

RE: HIGHER AND MORE RESPONSIBLE DUTIES ALLOWANCE

COMMISSIONER R. K. GOZZI

HOBART, 23 September 1988

REASONS FOR DECISION

APPEARANCES:

For the Minister for Public Administration

- Mr C. Willingham

For the Tasmanian Public Service Association

- Mr J. Geursen

DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING:

16 September Hobart

This application concerns the consent variation of the Tourism Tasmania Staff Award (the Award) to incorporate into the Award, Higher Duties and More Responsible Duties provisions determined by the Full Bench in matter T.760 of 1987.

As the merit of these conditions of employment has been fully canvassed before the Full Bench, I do not intend to traverse the same ground again.

Suffice to say when the Award was made it was on the basis that conditions in respect of higher duties contained in the General Conditions of Service Award would be included in the Award.

Accordingly, as requested by the parties the appropriate variation will now be made.

Additionally, references to conditions of service contained in State Service Regulations 1985, going to maternity leave, adoption leave, travelling time and expenses and absence due to injury or illness will also be included in the Award.

My order, operative from the first pay period commencing on or after the date of this decision is attached.

R.K. Gozzi
