COMMISSIONER R.K. GOZZI

HOBART, 26 September 1988

REASONS FOR DECISION

APPEARANCES:

For the Tasmanian Public Service Association

- J Geursen

For the Minister for Public Administration

- C Willingham

DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING:

16 September 1988 Hobart
22 September 1988 Hobart

This consent matter concerns the inclusion of Higher Duties and more Responsible Duties provisions in the Parliamentary Staff Award (the Award).

The application for variation, made by the Tasmanian Public Service Association (the Association) arises as a consequence of a Full Bench decision1 which determined the subject matter of this application in the terms sought by the Association in this case.

In the circumstances, reference to "higher duty" and "extra duty" in Clause 9(ii) of the Award will be deleted.

In lieu thereof a new sub-clause 9(iii) will be inserted to reflect higher duties and more responsible duties allowances which will now apply as a consequence of this decision.

The Order, operative from the date of this decision will be issued in due course.
