IN THE TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984

T.1561 of 1988

IN THE MATTER OF AN APPLICATION BY THE TASMANIAN PUBLIC SERVICE ASSOCIATION TO VARY NORTH WEST REGIONAL WATER AUTHORITY EMPLOYEES AWARD

RE: HIGHER AND MORE RESPONSIBLE DUTIES ALLOWANCE

COMMISSIONER GOZZI

HOBART, 26 September 1988

REASONS FOR DECISION

APPEARANCES:

For the Tasmanian Public Service Association

- Mr J. Geursen

For the North West Regional Water Authority

- Mr C Willingham

DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING:

16 September 1988   Hobart
22 September 1988   Hobart

This consent matter concerns the inclusion of Higher Duties and more Responsible Duties provisions in the North West Regional Water Authority Employees Award (the Award).

The application for variation, made by the Tasmanian Public Service Association (the Association) arises as a consequence of a Full Bench decision1 which determined the subject matter of this application in the terms sought by the Association in this case.

As the Award currently makes no reference to the provisions requested to be inserted, and having regard to the Full Bench Decision, I have decided to include a new Clause 25 in the Award.

This clause will reflect higher duties and more responsible duties allowances which will apply as a consequence of this decision.

The Order, [correction order] operative from the date of this decision will be issued in due course.

R.K. Gozzi
