Further to the decision of the Full Bench in matter T1778 of 1988 these proceedings were commenced on the motion of the Commission pursuant to Section 24(3) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984.

The purpose of this hearing was to include the National Union of Storeworkers, Packers, Rubber and Allied Workers, Tasmanian Branch in Clause 6 - Parties and Persons Bound of the

(a) Fibreglass and Plastics Award;

(b) Rubber Trades Award;

(c) Metal Trades (State Employees) Award; and

(d) Mechanical Engineers and Founders Award

in lieu of the Federated Rubber and Allied Workers' Union of Australia, Victorian Branch and the Federated Storemen and Packers Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch.

The latter organisations amalgamated. This was endorsed by the Federal Deputy Industrial Registrar.
