IN THE TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984

T.2178 of 1989 IN THE MATTER OF AN APPLICATION BY THE FEDERATED CLERKS UNION OF AUSTRALIA, TASMANIAN BRANCH TO VARY THE ESTATE AGENTS AWARD

  RE: TRAINEESHIPS

COMMISSIONER R K GOZZI HOBART, 17 November 1989

REASONS FOR DECISION

APPEARANCES:

For the Federated Clerks' Union
of Australia, Tasmanian Branch
- Mr A Grubb

For the Tasmanian Confederation
of Industries
- Mr W Fitzgerald

DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING:

9 November 1989          Hobart

This application by the Federated Clerks Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch seeks the variation of Division A of the Estate Agents Award to provide for Australian Traineeship System (ATS) provisions for clerks.

The application was processed as a consent matter before the Commission.

The variation requested to be made to the award in respect of ATS is consistent with similar applications before the Commission as variously constituted, and which have been endorsed.

Accordingly I do not propose to canvass the very significant merits of this scheme which I also endorse for this award.

The Order, operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 9 November 1989 is attached.

R K Gozzi
COMMISSIONER
