IN THE TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984

TA.30 of 1988

IN THE MATTER OF A REFERRAL FROM ANOMALIES CONFERENCE NO. 10 TO VARY THE TASMANIAN AMBULANCE AWARD

RE: RESTRUCTURING AND EFFICIENCY AND WORK VALUE

COMMISSIONER R.K. GOZZI

HOBART, 21 February 1989

REASONS FOR DECISION

APPEARANCES:

For the Ambulance Employees' Association of Tasmania

- Mr P Nielsen with
  Mr R Doddridge

For the Minister for Public Administration

- Mr M. Stevens with
  Mr C. Shirley

DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING:

15 February 1989 Hobart

In my Restructuring and Efficiency and Work Value decision handed down on 6 October 1988 the parties were granted Leave Reserved for, inter alia, the further consideration of an appropriate classification level for the position of Manager (Administration and Personnel) Tasmanian Ambulance Service.

The Tasmanian Ambulance Service (TAS) originally requested the Commission to endorse a class XIV Clerical Employees Award.

The evidence did not support that level and a class XI was determined by me on an interim basis.

In these current proceedings the TAS supported by the Ambulance Employees Association of Tasmania requested the Commission to delete the position in question from the Award consequential to the current in depth review and reorganisation of the Department of Health Services.

Given these latest developments and the further structural and organisational changes which are likely to emanate from this review, I have decided to accede to the request of the parties to delete the classification.

The remaining leave reserved matter as set out in clause 28 of the Tasmanian Ambulance Service Award No 10 of 1988 (Consolidated) can be the subject of separate application(s) at the convenience of the parties.

The order is attached.
