and

Minister administering the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984

TASMANIAN AMBULANCE SERVICE AWARD

COMMISSIONER R K GOZZI

HOBART, 21 November 1990

Award variation - Expense-related allowances

REASONS FOR DECISION

In this matter the Ambulance Employees' Association of Tasmania (the Association) sought the variation of the Tasmanian Ambulance Service Award to adjust expense-related allowances by the percentage movement (8.56%) in the Consumer Price Index (weighted average of eight capitals) for the period March quarter 1989 to March quarter 1990.

The relevant expense-related allowances are set out in Clause 9 of the award.

Mr Nielsen, appearing for the Association, submitted that the adjustment of the nominated allowances is in accordance with the formula accepted by the Full Bench in matter T.833 of 1987.

Ms Cox, appearing for the Minister administering the Tasmanian State Service Act, supported the submissions of Mr Nielsen.

The proposed adjustment of the allowances is permitted by the Wage Fixation Principles. Accordingly I will vary the award in the manner requested operative from 16 November 1990.

The order is attached.
