In my decision1 in this matter I determined that the salaries scale for Class V, Grade 2, Drafting Officer was to be varied by the deletion of the 1st and 2nd year of service salary levels. The reasons for these variations are stipulated in the decision referred to above; which was one of many decisions in a very protracted case involving Full Bench proceedings as well. For the purposes of this supplementary decision, the reason for the variation is that I accepted the submissions of the parties that no good reason remained for the retention of identical salary levels in Grade 2 to those already available in Grade 1. The only relevant salary level in Class V, Grade 2 is for the 3rd year of service and thereafter. With the deletion of the 1st and 2nd year salary levels for Class V, Grade 2; the 3rd year of service and thereafter will now appear in the award as the 1st year of service and thereafter for that particular classification level. This decision will have no financial impact and formalises what was determined with the "Draftsmen Principal Award No. 5" was made. To give effect to this variation it is necessary for a correction order to be issued to rectify the oversight of an order not being made when the decision was handed down. Accordingly, the order operative from 4 June 1987 is attached. This order will also have the effect of correcting orders issued subsequent to 4 June 1987 which will incorporate the variation the subject of this order and the renumbering of orders issued beyond that date.
