FIBREGLASS AND PLASTICS AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

11 October 1991

Wage rates - Work related allowances - State Wage Case August 1991 - 2.5% increase - On costs - superannuation - part-time employment - granted

REASONS FOR DECISION

These applications were made by the National Union of Workers, Tasmanian Branch (the union) for the purpose of varying the Fibreglass and Plastics Award to insert:

    (a) the 2.5% increase in wage rates and work related allowances arising out of the State Wage Case decision handed down on 13 August 1991;

    (b) a provision to conform with principle 2 - Structural Efficiency - subclause (e);

    (c) a clause relating to the employment of part-time employees;

    (d) provision for 3% occupational superannuation.

Having heard the submissions presented by Mr D Strickland for the union and Mr S Clues for the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries I am satisfied that the agreed position presented by the parties conforms with the Structural Efficiency Principle and specifically the conditions set out in (a) to (g) and Principle 5 - Superannuation.

Accordingly the award will be varied in the manner sought.

The attached orders giving effect to this decision will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 16 September 1991.
