TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Tasmanian Confederation of Industries AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRIES AWARD
Occupational Superannuation - Exemptions REASONS FOR DECISION This was an application made under Section 23 of the Act by the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries (the Confederation) for the granting of exemptions to quite a number of companies from making occupational superannuation contributions into one of the two funds specified in the Automotive Industries Award. Alternative funds were nominated. Mr S Clues, who appeared on behalf of the Confederation, produced exhibits which specified the names of the Companies seeking exemptions, and the names of the superannuation funds involved; this also included copies of fund authorisation letters form the Commonwealth Insurance and Superannuation Commission. Mr Clues submitted, on the basis of the information and evidence he had produced, that the exemptions ought to be granted. He also produced as an exhibit, a draft order for an appropriate award amendment. In essence the Unions represented at the hearing indicated agreement to the exemptions sought. As the unions have agreed to the application and it was in accordance with requirements the Award will be amended as sought. The Companies granted exemption and the alternative superannuation funds separately applying will be listed in the Award. An order will follow.
