TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 The Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia, CHILD CARE AND CHILDRENS SERVICES AWARD
State Wage Case August 1991 - 2.5% increase - granted REASONS FOR DECISION In this matter The Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (FMWU) sought the variation of the Child Care and Childrens Services Award to reflect the 2.5 per cent increase in wage rates and work-related allowances in accordance with the 13 August 1991 State Wage Case decision1. As required by the Structural Efficiency Principle the parties in this consent matter satisfied the Commission that the prerequisites for the wage increases had been met. In that regard the Commission was referred to the second instalment structural efficiency adjustment awarded in matter T.3008 of 1991 dated 14 May 1991. In that interim decision and the resultant award variations most of the elements of the structural efficiency were implemented. The issue of career structure and minimum rates adjustment are also being addressed. When those matters are finalised, and progress has been made to that end, all of the SEP requirements will have been satisfied. In the circumstances the award will be varied in the manner requested operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 28 August 1991. The order is attached.
