TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 The Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia CLEANING AND PROPERTY SERVICES AWARD
Wage rates - State Wage August 1991 - Structural Efficiency Principle REASONS FOR DECISION This was an application made under Section 23 of the Act by The Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (the Union) for the implementation in the Cleaning and Property Services Award (the Award) of the August 1991 State Wage Case Decision (the Decision) which increased wage rates and work related allowances by 2.5%. At the hearing the union submitted that most of the requirements of the decision had been met in that the second Structural Efficiency Principle (SEP) increase process had been completed for the Award and this included many of those requirements. The Union also produced a properly signed commitment in the terms of the Decision. The outstanding requirements were proposed to be dealt with as follows:
The Union also proposed to proceed with the Minimum Rates Adjustments (MRA's) as previously determined, but with the instalments increased in accordance with a formula whereby the 2.5% increase was first applied to the original total target amount. As to operative date, the Union sought 13 September 1991. The Tasmanian Confederation of Industries confirmed agreement to the union's submissions and the operative date sought. As indicated at the hearing I am satisfied that the detailed requirements of the Decision as to the SEP and MRA's have been met fully in this case. The Award will be amended as requested operative from 13 September 1991. An order is attached.
