TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Metals and Engineering Workers' Union SURVEYORS (PRIVATE INDUSTRY) AWARD
State Wage Case August 1991 - 2.5% increase - granted REASONS FOR DECISION In this matter the Metals and Engineering Workers' Union (MEWU) sought the variation of the Surveyors (Private Industry) Award to reflect the 2.5% increase in wage rates and work-related allowances as provided for in the decision of 13 August 1991 State Wage Case1. Mr Baker for the MEWU and Mr Clues for the Tasmanian Confederation of Industries informed the Commission that they considered that the requirements of Principle 2 - Structural Efficiency, paragraphs (a) to (g) had been satisfied in this award. I was reminded by the parties that this award already contained many flexibilities which were endorsed by the Commission when the award was first made. Additionally the award was further updated to reflect the second instalment structural efficiency adjustment in December 1990. The parties have also provided a suitable consultative mechanism provision which is now endorsed. In all of the circumstances the award will be varied operative from the first pay period to commence on or after 3 September 1991. The order is attached.
