TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Musicians' Union of Australia MUSICIANS AWARD
State Wage Case August 1991 - 2.5% increase - granted REASONS FOR DECISION In this matter the Musicians's Union of Australia, Hobart Branch sought the variation of the Musicians Award to give effect to the 13 August 1991 State Wage Case decision1. The award was previously varied2 to reflect the second instalment structural efficiency adjustment. At that time significant structural efficiency initiatives were implemented in the award albeit that precise consultative mechanism and work as directed provisions were not included. This has been redressed in these proceedings with the inclusion in the award of clauses going specifically to these subject matters. Accordingly the parties satisfied the Commission that the pre conditions set out in Principle 2 Structural Efficiency had been met. In the circumstances the award will be varied by increasing wage rates and work related allowances by 2.5 per cent. The order, operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 18 September 1991 is attached.
